Cherry's Bio:
This girl is a show not to be missed! For nearly 8 years, Cherry has been wielding her fun, sassy, and sexy energy into the realm of the flame. She is well known in Portland and throughout the west coast for her amazing technical skill, her creativity and her moves. This girl loves to dance and it shows!
Her love of dance and obsession with fire were finally integrated when she was introduced to the world of fire dancing during a visit to New Zealand in 1999. Shortly after, she made her first pair of poi and started teaching herself how to spin. Word got around about her skills with the tools she works with, her moves (and her booty!).
In 2004, she won “The Sexiest Fire Dancer” at Burning Man in Jennifer Steele’s ‘Hot Sex’ contest which gave her more notoriety and exposure not only in the Portland community but also in San Francisco, L.A. and Seattle. Shortly after, she was invited to appear on HBO’s “Real Sex” with Jennifer Steele and also appeared on The Style Channel after performing at the Roosevelt Hotel in L.A. with Firegroove on New Year’s 2005. Since then she has taken her art overseas, performing in Amsterdam, Greece, Paris, Italy, Spain and Portugal. She has also worked with Jennifer Steele on the film set with another amazing local fire artist, Miss Steak (aka Ivizia). Stayed tuned for updates!
Currently Cherry is rockin’and loving her life in Portland. She is performing at Devil’s Point and Dante’s on a regular basis. Her shows are creative, sexy, fun and full of life. Don’t believe me? Come and see for yourself!
In addition to her shows, Cherry is also a wonderful and experienced teacher of the fire arts. She is teaching weekly poi classes and offers private lessons in poi, staff, double staff, fire-eating/fleshing (body burning), and hula hoop.
